Anyone remember the “Daddy or chips?” ad?

Well anyways I was looking for a gift and this made me laugh out loud because I remember the time when I was sitting with my plate of chips, and my dad came and took one just like the dad did in the advert.
And the best part of the personalisation of this product is that you can change the words 'daddy' and 'chips'. So you can change it if  you call your dad by a different name (in your own language? - I call mine abbu) then it would make it extra special

Fallen Angels > Vampires

This post is dedicated to one of my favourite book series, Hush Hush.
And from the title you can probably guess that it's about fallen Angels and whatnot. Vampires are so 2010.

Let's not forget the epic BOOK TRAILERS
HUSH HUSH
CRESCENDO
SILENCE
FINALE

Just finished Finale last night, and I kid you not as soon as I read the last two lines and realised that it was the end, I threw the book out of my hands. "this cannot be!"

Despite people somewhat comparing this series to Twilight, I would have to say that Hush Hush has so much more depth and more mystery to its characters.
Plus Nora knows how to fight her own battles without cowering behind  her boyfriend. Jus' sayin'!

Sad it's over but glad it happened

Beware the internet thieves...

Someone emailed me pretending to be my uncle and asked for a loan of around £1000 as apparently he 'took a business trip to the Philippines but lost his wallet and phone.'

I was wary of this email and wanted more confirmation before any further action took place so I told him to find a payphone and phone my dad. He replied that it's too expensive and without me even agreeing to anything yet, he provided the details of how to send the money!

So when I showed my dad the email, he too had doubts. He decided to phone my uncle's house number and guess who picked up? Yup, my uncle did. He was very much in Bangladesh and NOT stuck in the Philippines.

Then it turned out that not only did the person hack into my uncle's account, but he made a whole new one to contact me with. It gave me great pleasure to block that address!

My uncle works for the government so this kind of trip would have been a normal procedure but my mum made a point that he would have contacted the people he works with rather that emailing his niece.

Hopefully no one else will have to go through this scam but it's good to be aware.

Hijabi Lookbook

Anyone who's remotely interested in fashion has probably heard of a site called: LOOKBOOK.nu
It's basically an online portfolio where users upload their different styles and other users 'hype' the looks. The more hypes, the popular the look. Simples.

So today I came across a type of lookbook for hijab and modest fashion:
MODESTYLE

It's pretty much the same format as the other site except this is still new and only has a handful of users...including myself :D
With Lookbook.nu I felt a little intimidated because the pictures looked so professional and besides, my so-called 'fashion' sense cannot even compete! But that doesn't bother me, it's all just a bit of fun and a nice way to share modest fashion and inspiration.

Awesome Trailers That you Wish Were Real Films...

THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS!

So amazing-the cast got their characters spot on and omg the bus! There's nothing scientific about this next school trip ....to the underworld :))

I think it would an awesome mini series but alas, only fan made and the chances of it being produced officially is slim :(
Oh well, the trailer is still pretty damn cool

Ed Sheeran Y U SO AMAZING ♡

Turn your ugly into art

Today's post is something inspired by Saima (saimasmileslike) when she shared a drawing that she had to do of herself by feeling her face.
So of course I decided to have a go. Here is the outcome:

It's not fantastic but something about the..ugliness of this drawing made me like it and I wanted to do more

Doing this felt a bit like 'love yourself' therapy. By adding the spots, untamed hair, my love for cake, the way I drool on my pillow... is a way of accepting that this is me and that's OK.
I think everyone should do this too because it's FUUNN :)

Wearing your abaya with...individuality

Truth be told, I'm not a full time wearer of abaya...
I've just about worn it twice in public, but I have future intentions to ditch the jeans and make the switch.

Now, I understand that wearing such a garment is supposed to humble you and to not care for such vain matters -i.e. fashion BUT being a girl in this day 'n' age, it's only natural that we want to look presentable and feel happy in what we are wearing rather than feeling as if you'll just melt away in the crowd.

People have been forever expressing their personality through their clothing. For example; I tend to wear a lot of darker colours, this could possibly tell you that I am a shy person who doesn't appreciate a lot of attention? ...You are right.

So as future reference for myself, here are some ways to wear 'your personality' with your abaya whilst keeping it toned down (aka. nothing too glamorous) and more importantly MODEST :)

Check shirts are always stylish and pretty modest. I love the length in this one too

Hoodies are a Hijabi's best friend-Comfort, coverage and effortless style

Cardigans- Lots and lots of cardigans. Bold colours, textures and prints = perfect

COZY SWEATERS! Preferably the over-sized kind.
I really love the dusty pink, loose knit jumper I got from New Look. Admittedly it is a size 18 which is two sizes too big, but I don't care :)

Finally anything from smart blazers, jackets, printed t shirts have the opportunity to be incorporated with your abaya. Simpless
And I know it's hardly rocket science, but you never know who you may inspire....

London Attractions: Designer Disney

What comes to mind when someone says: Harrods?
Do you think of it as one of the poshest hot spots in London, a place where wallets go anorexic or simply for its astounding window display?
For me, it would have to be the latter.

I remember going past Harrods last year and witnessing (in my eyes) the most gorgeous window display EVER.
Those fluttery eyed mannequins, lights that pierced through the glass and dresses sobbing with jewels...I was in love.

(2011-Reminds me of The White Witch from Narnia)

And of course why should this year be any different?
Disney Princesses made over Harrods style and a huge hit for Disney lovers...such as myself!
I literally cannot control my love for this display
These are some of my favourites (practically all of them!)

Although the display is meant for Christmas, some might argue that Disney princesses have nothing to do with the festive season.
But why must everything be covered in snow, and surrounded by wrapped boxes and reindeers for it to be considered Christmassy?

In my opinion I can't think of any other season that this display would be best suited for.
It is perfect for winter- lifting the spirits of chilly shoppers with its magical presence.
